Technology
The
Brazilian technology sector grew rapidly during the Internet bubble
(1999 to 2000). In addition to the emergence of a number of Internet
ventures, numerous Brazilian software houses were formed and have
developed, successfully, solutions tailored to the Brazilian market.
In addition the Brazilian government has stimulated venture capital
investments in the sector through newly formed venture capital
firms funded and managed by the BNDES (Brazilian National Development
Bank), SEBRAE and private firms. Many of the Brazilian technology
firms have successfully accessed venture capital and will be seeking
second or third round capital investments.
Telefinance and its partners have significant experience in the
sector:
- Advised
on the sale of one of the largest Brazilian ISPs.
-
Advised a start-up vertical portal development company on
capital raising.
-
Prepared a valuation analysis on an Internet radio company.
-
Assisted in due diligence on a private equity investment in
a systems integration and consulting company.
