José Luiz Pinto leads the activities for Mergers and Acquisitions in Telefinance.

José Luiz brings a profound knowledge of private equity investing combined with a broad corporate finance experience having worked in multinational companies that include Price Waterhouse (Brazil and UK), BankBoston and Southern Cross Group.

José Luiz has more than twenty years of experience in all aspects of corporate finance including private equity investing, acquisitions, disposals, strategic alliances, joint ventures and capital raising. He has advised companies ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations including Cargill PLC (UK), VDO, Rieter, Lemforder, Fitchel & Sachs, Goodyear, Unilever, Ferruzzi Group, HP, Brasmotor, Warnaco, Prosegur, RBS and Grupo Abril.

His specific experience includes:

• A leading role in a number of strategic acquisitions which contributed to the goal of building industry-leading companies;
• Guiding the structuring and development of start-up projects and creation of joint-ventures within industry segments;
• Playing leading roles in the development and implementation of: initial and modified strategic plans, asset redeployment efforts, return-enhancing capital spending disciplines, actions to expand geographic and product/service markets;
• Assisting in the recruitment of portfolio company executives and in the development and implementation of executive compensation programs;
• Orchestrating and leading capital raising efforts. This including raising private debt and equity capital and re-financings.

José Luiz received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, Brazil and holds an MBA degree from Warwick Business School, England.
